“Rock and roll will never die”
Posted by snowsera | Filed under Blogs, Music
Morning!
I’m excited.
Without a doubt, I’m thrilled.
Why? Mothafucking rock and roll that’s why. It’s salvation is going to happen.
As more and more corporations move away from managing and handling the creation of rock and roll, it’s going to be driven underground. And when it goes underground, it’s going to become edgy again. It’s creators won’t be in it to make a quick buck or achieve some semblance of Lady Gaga celebrity fame; they’ll be making music because it’s the only thing they know how to do.
Give it a few years, as more and more people get protools-esque rigs and begin recording on their own out the reach of label hacks, we are going to see music start to grow into what it originally was – a rebellious declaration of being alive.
I can’t wait for tomorrow.
Cheers,
Ian
Art According to Jack

“I feel it, you feel it – we’re all struggling with the trouble that this industry is in right now, and it’s not about sales; it’s about beauty and romance and a relationship to art that’s turning invisible, and it’s affecting people’s perception of music. It’d affecting whether they think of it as a viable art, because it’s so fucking disposable. It’s not about being modern or retro or a Luddite or being hopeful or pessimistic about the future; it’s about clinging on to what makes sense of our lives, and what gives our lives value, and what gives us a commonality and a feeling of belonging.”
